Financial aid is awarded with the expectation that a student will reside on campus from the first

If you receive a merit-based academic scholarship, you must maintain a cumulative Augustana
grade-point average (GPA) to renew your award. GPA is evaluated for scholarship renewal at the
end of each academic year. The renewal criteria by award is outlined below:

International Presidential Scholarship: 3.00 GPA
International Dean’s Scholarship: 2.75 GPA
International Founders Scholarship: 2.50 GPA
International Opportunity Award: 2.00 GPA

In addition to tuition and fees and room and board, students are responsible for miscellaneous
expenses like books, clothing, transportation, and food between academic terms and over holiday
breaks.

Students should plan for an annual increase in the cost of attendance. This increase has ranged
from 2% to 3.5% over the course of the last several years. Increased costs typically are
announced in January for the following academic year.

Campus employment is assumed of all students who receive financial aid to attend Augustana
College. It is reasonable to expect to work 6-10 hours weekly.

In the case of a change in financial circumstances that may result in a student being unable to
return to campus (loss of parent income, unusually high medical expenses, or natural disaster),
